Throwback Thursday is showing 1984 classic Purple Rain. Prince stars in his acting debut as Kid, the talented but troubled frontman of his band The Revolution. The film was a commercial success, winning several awards including an Academy Award for best original song score which included chart topping songs When Doves Cry, Let’s Go Crazy and Purple Rain.
